After a two-year hiatus, Elements Music Camp, a platform that seeks to develop talented local singer-songwriters has partnered with Globe Telecom‘s Globe LIVE to push further the envelop in discovering a superstar that will not just captivate the hearts of local but as well as the global audiences.
Joe Caliro, Globe senior advisor for Creative Marketing and Multi-Media businesses, emphasized that Globe’s partnership with Elements Music Camp will produce talents that will cater to the global market.
“The Philippines is full of musical talents and we should discover and prepare them globally. The world has become smaller because of the Internet.
“Music distribution has evolved from record bars to online music streaming distribution such as Spotify, YouTube among others and this is where Globe comes in,” Caliro mentioned.
After bringing and staging world-class musicals in the country, Globe Telecom, through Globe LIVE, is set to revitalize the local music industry by partnering with another noteworthy and meaningful endeavor that Elements Music Camp has started.
For six years, the camp, which is also known as Elements National Music Camp or the Elements National Singer-Songwriter Camp is a music masterclass for Filipino singer-songwriters. It is notable for the participation of eminent music personalities from the country such as Ryan Cayabyab, Joey Ayala, and Gary Granada, among others.
The new and bigger Elements will kick-off with the reunion concert of campers, which is titled: ‘ELEMENTS Music Camp: The Reunion Concert’. It will be held on July 21, a Saturday, 8pm at the UP Theater in Diliman, Quezon City.
This year’s camp takes pride in the things that Globe has intended its program of activities and how to fully utilize and maximize the potentials of every camper involved.
From the applicants, there will only be 30 who will be picked and eventually the judges will pick the best 10 campers. The 10 chosen will be showcased online and there’ll be voting via listening on Spotify. The more listeners or downloads, the more Spotify boast it on playlist.
Campers will enjoy the following—the experience of a lifetime to grow their brand by creating music content in and after the camp, a chance to showcase their music on Globe’s associated platform, Spotify, the country’s biggest ad-supported streaming service, and will be provided mentorship under some of the biggest names in Philippine music: Jay Durias, Thyro Alfaro, Jonathan Manalo, Jimmy Antiporda and Jungee Marcelo.
Since, Elements has a new partner, it has also raised the standards of choosing the best for this year’s camp. It will provide the opportunity to work and collaborate on their already-arranged music with the international who’s-who of music, namely—Steve Lillywhite, a six-time Grammy Award-winning music producer; Bernard ‘Harv’ Harvey, music producer-composer-songwriter; Ferry Corsten, pioneer in slectronic music and multi-awarded DJ; Bassie Blue Hamilton, a musician-producer and a Grammy nominee; and Ernest Tuo Clark, SVP of Def Jam Records and a seven-time Grammy nominee.
