Gewel Gabriel’s new play with Wana Guevara and Ana Rae Tambaoan dramaturgy and additional text—‘Nang Subuking Akyatin ng mga Lagi ang Palatumbasan sa Hangganan’ seeks to expose the realities of the darkness that threatens to envelop the nation. It will be Teatro ni Juan’s 11th Theatre Season offering in celebration of the Philippine Independence Day.
The play intends to break the silence on social injustices and renders a voice to the victims of brutal humanitarian crisis. It centers on a group of children as they are exposed in the brutalities of the power that they have once believed in. They start to ask questions starting off with the wall, the ‘Palatumbasan’, surrounding all that there is. They struggle to weigh the gravity of the circumstances facing them by standing up for what they believe is just or offer a stronger faith to attained the ‘promised change’.
In the cast are Jennelle Andre Javier, Kristine De Leon, Ana Rae Tambaoan, Jonpol Ponce, Zildgian Mirabueno, Bianca Ysabel Trinidad and Erika Landicho. The upcoming production is directed by Mikko Angeles with Marvin Bautista’s set design, Michaela Caranza’s costume design. Thobie Ng’s lights design, and Karl Arce’s sound design.
It will run from June 16 to July 1 (on Saturdays and Sundays, 7pm) at Tahanan ni Juan 43-A C. Cruz St., Sta. Elena Marikina City. Tickets are at Php100 with limited seats only. For tickets, sponsorships and showbuying inquiries, contact Camille Doctolero at +639268815358 or email [email protected].
