From the woman who gave the two blockbuster films ‘Camp Sawi’ and ‘Meet Me in St. Gallen’, screenwriter-filmmaker Irene Villamor attempts to explore and present unique romantic-drama that brings together Anne Curtis and Dingdong Dantes in Viva Films and N2 Productions’ ‘Sid & Aya (Not a Love Story)’ that is set to open on May 30 in cinemas nationwide.
Intriguing enough, the moviegoers’ imagination are tickled with its teaser-like trailer where Dantes’s character as Sid said, “Hindi naman lahat ng may ‘I love you,’ ay love story na, eh.”
In the film, the chemistry between the Princess of All Media—Anne Curtis and the 49th Box Office Entertainment Awards’ Film Actor of the Year—Dingdong Dantes will definitely delight their respective huge following for their much-awaited first-time onscreen pairing.
Sid is an insomniac, while Curtis portrays the role of Aya, the mysterious woman the former meets and asks to spend time with him as he battles with those long, sleepless and empty nights. Despite the emphasis of its title that the film is not a love story—audience are in for a treat to witness scenes that feature both artists sizzle in romantic moments. Both characters penned and imagined by Villamor have unique personages and promise to rock the perceptions of its intended audience who are a sucker for romance.
Apart from the film’s attraction—the two lead stars, the three—Dingdong, Anne and Direk Irene are unanimous in pointing that ‘Sid & Aya’ has a sountrack that would endear its viewers while watching the movie. It’s the song performed by Janine Tenoso that perfectly blends with the film’s backdrop (where most of the important scenes were shot); the production had to fly to that nostalgic feel of Japan.
Catch the stars on its Red Carpet Premiere tonight at TriNoma Cinema 7 at 730 tonight. It will also have Middle East screenings starting on June 7. US screenings on June 8. It will also be released in Rome, Italy and Hong Kong very soon.
