Three of Mars Ravelo’s creations—Captain Barbell, Darna and Lastikman are the superheroes utilized to be the heroes in the game app created and developed by Xeleb Technologies and in partnership with ABS-CBNmobile; was recently launched on Wednesday, April 4. Its game app name is ‘Pinoy Komiks Heroes Battle’ (PKHB).
Anne Curtis-Heussaff, one of Xeleb’s co-owners and Kim Atienza, host of ‘Matanglawin’ and a shareholder of the company also came to speak about the game app that Filipino millennials would be able to appreciate and enjoy while playing the said mobile game.
They were joined by Karen Coloma, ABS-CBN head for licensing and Vanessa Barrameda, general manager of Xeleb Technologies.
Creating the app with these Ravelo superheroes, is another venture after they successfully created the app for Coco Martin’s ‘Ang Panday’ in 2017 and the other celebrity-branded mobile apps like ‘Anne Galing!’, (Anne’s real-world #OOTDs!) and it the Philippines’ first-ever celebrity game.
According to Curtis-Heussaff, who was once assumed a character as ‘Dyesebel’ and was once created by Ravelo, “It is a good way to reintroduce to educate the youth of today with Mars Ravelo’s superheroes through games.”
Also, Atienza, who is fondly called as ‘Kuya Kim’ added, “We are not just the faces of this company, but we also help develop the games.”
‘PKHB’ is a challenging puzzle game wherein players have to complete level goals within a limited number of moves. Successful moves have users fighting side by side with Captain Barbell, Darna, and Lastikman as they square off with their infamous foes and nemeses such as Valentina, Babaeng Lawin, Don Ramon and Prof. Sixto.
For Xeleb’s future projects, after the ‘PKHB’ there are talks to have a ‘Bagani’ game based on the series, very soon.
