The Albay beauty, Catriona Gray reigned supreme in this year’s Binibining Pilipinas 2018 beauty pageant as she was proclaimed Miss Universe-Philippines, succeeding Rachel Peters who failed to bring home the Miss Universe crown last year.
Gray, the 24-year-old and five-foot and 10-inch tall, Fil-Aussie who previously won the Miss World-Philippines crown 2016 but failed to clinch the elusive title after Megan Young won in 2013.
At the night of glitz and glamour, and as a tribute to beauty and art, as this year’s theme for the 55th year of Binibining Pilipinas, Catriona as candidate 20 bested other 39 beauty hopefuls and even brought home several special awards for her—Pitoy Moreno Best in National Costume, Miss Ever Bilena, Jag Denime Queen, Best in Swimsuit and Best in Long Gown.
Other winners are Maria Athisa Manalo (candidate 17) is Binibining Pilipinas-International, Jehza Mae Huelar (candidate 31) is Binibining Pilipinas-Supranational; Eva Psychee Patalinjug, (one of the five Cebuana beauties and candidate 32) is Binibining Pilipinas-Grand International; Karen Gallman (candidate 38) is Binibining Pilipinas- Intercontinental; and Michelle Gumabao is Binibining Pilipinas-Globe.
Vickie Marie Rushton and Samantha Mae Bernardo were named first runner-up and second runner-up, respectively.
