Two of Original Pilipino Music (OPM) popularized by Jessa Zaragoza (1997) and Nora Aunor (2005)–‘Bakit Pa’ and ‘Kahit Konting Awa’, respectively are being revived by Malaysian RnB singer–Min Yasmin via a debut solo Philippine album titled ‘Pangarap’, launched yesterday, February 22 at the Manila Polo Club, Makati City.
The two songs were written by Vehnee Saturno and are included in the 14-track album under the record label JULFEKAR Music, which is fully-owned and managed by Filipino-Malaysian songwriter-producer–Julfekar.
Having a powerful and soulful singing chops, during the album launch, Min gave a sampling of the songs featured in her debut solo album which is distributed by Ivory Music & Video. Most of the songs are performed in Tagalog, but the rest are Filipino minor languages–Tausug and Sama Bajau.
As a singer; she was awarded as Outstanding Asian Singer 2015 by Gawad Sulo ng Bayan Awards and was also chosen as a Music Ambassdor in the same year. Also last year, the Malaysian RnB artist had her first successful international concert in Zamboanga City and Tawi-Tawi in March and August, respectively.
